Prototype Handbag Collection

Leather Wallet

For this product I designed a leather wallet using the laser cutter to cut out patterns and engrave a logo. I used brown leather to make a 3 pocket wallet that is hand sewn with waxed thread. This compact wallet is perfect for business cards. This was a challenging concept because I have never worked with leather or laser cutting before, but I was pleased with how it turned out. Pouch and Key fob

For this product I made a small pouch with a lining, a closure and a key fob. I chose a cotton bee and honeycomb print for the shell, and a brown and cream pattern polyester lining. I used gold painted leather for my key fob, and incorporated UV printing for the black logo. I also used UV printing to add my logo on the front of the bag. This concept helped better my sewing skills, and introduced me to UV printing. Click through the photos to see my process.

Project | Large Bag

For my final project this semester I was required to make a large handbag using three different types of technology. The fabrics used were different types of polyester, the shell is a thick 100% polyester, the lining is a silky thin 100% polyester, and the pocket is a medium thickness 100% polyester. I used 3D printing to make the ring handles, I used UV printing to create the withe monstera print on the pocket, and I used the seam welder to piece together my lining. This project challenged my skills, and pushed me to create a handbag that was functional and unique. Click through the photos to see my process.
